April 30th,
TAX deadline
It has been another wonderfully exciting and full
year with its expected highs and lows. August saw me
travelling to Brisbane, Australia which is where I am
writing this from, with a Fiance Visa in hand. I got
married in December here in Oz, and I even had my cat
sent over in October.
I am returning to Vancouver for two months
of the Tax Season and am open for business as of
March 1st until April 30th. I WILL BE
RETURNING TO AUSTRALIA on MAY 5th, so anyone who would like me to
continue doing their taxes MUST see me in these two
months. I'm sorry I won't be able to accommodate those
who use the June 15th deadline unless they use SKYPE.
That means call me at 604.321.2670
or email me at ahryniuk@telus.net
NOW to set
up your appointment. Get all your receipts
together, tally them up and bring in your totals.
If you don't have an appointment by April
20th I CANNOT GUARANTEE your taxes will be done by April
30th.
I am happy to take on new
clients, as long as they know I won't be as available in
the off months as I have been thus far.
Some housekeeping notes.
My Vancouver phone number (604.321.2670) is a Computer
phone so it rings straight through to my office in
Brisbane, at no cost to you! Likewise, I can ring you
back from Oz at no cost to me. Please don't be shy to
call. Also, I am completely available on SKYPE to do
appointments, if you're comfortable and fluid on the
computer and would like to meet after the April 30th
deadline. All my contact information is in the sidebar
to the left.
There are a number of changes afoot, all of which
have yet to be revealed even to me. I may take on a
partner who will service clients in the off months,
outside of tax season, with all the Reviews and
questions about Notice of Assessments. My plan, in this
moment, is to continue to return to Canada for two
months of the Tax Season until such time that I
return to Canada indefinitely.
For those not in the loop, my husband has a son who
is 13 and just beginning highschool. It is our plan to
return to Canada within two years, so Josh can attend a
year of highschool in Vancouver and we can resume life
there. As much as I love Brisbane, Vancouver is
home.
I want to deeply thank all of you who year
after year call in advance, have your numbers
tallied and pay me when the work is complete. You
are my pride and joy, because you are showing up to
yourself and taking financial responsibility. This in
turn leaves room for your spirit to get on with the
business of what you love to do best.
I'm gearing up for
coming back. I look forward to seeing all of you and
hearing how your year has been.
Keep on keeping
on.

Tax
Law Changes&Tips
COMPUTERS
Since the
beginning of 2009 until 2011 the government will
allow a 100% capital cost deduction of all computers
purchased. This is the time to buy your laptop,
scanner, printer, or new desk top to fully take
advantage of this one time tax break. This is a
temporary two-year measure.
Here are some
other things that you should know about:
- Personal
amount: The basic personal amount
has increased to $10,320.
- Working income tax
benefit (WITB): Tax relief
provided by increased funding to the WITB has been
enriched for 2009.
- Home Renovation Tax
Credit: If you are a homeowner,
you may be able to claim this new non-refundable tax
credit [Footnote
1] of up to $1,350 based on
eligible expenses incurred for work performed or goods
acquired after January 27, 2009, and before
February 1, 2010, in respect of a renovation
or alteration to an eligible dwelling. The credit
applies to expenses of more than $1,000, but not more
than $10,000.
- First-Time Home
Buyers' Tax Credit: If you are a
first-time homebuyer, a person with a disability, or
an individual buying a home on behalf of a related
person with a disability, you may be able to claim
this new non-refundable tax credit [Footnote
1] of up to $750 for the
acquisition of a qualifying home after
January 27, 2009 (closing after this date).
- Home Buyers' Plan

This year I am
offering two- one day Workshops looking at the
emotions of money: how to create prosperity, have
more time, friends, money, and good health. This
will be two days of uncovering and learning about our
belief systems around money, doing guided meditations,
what creates meaning and purpose in our lives, and a
chance to meet new people. Ultimately we want to be the
Creators of our lives, rather than always reacting
to what gets thrown at us.

December 12, 2009 - Noosa Beach, Queensland,
Australia
The
Wedding
For the
curious and or interested, Steve Seaton and I met in
London, England in 1977, when I was the tender age of
14. We wrote letters for two years until 1979, when I
ventured to England to be with him, definitely against
the wishes of my parents. We lasted all of four months
and I returned to Canada. The short version of the
story is that he & I reconnected in 1985 briefly
while I was researching a novel I was writing about
the time in 1979 we were together. After that
we completely lost touch until I googled him
in 2006. We have been travelling back & forth
between Canada and Australia for the past three years,
and December saw the next phase of our lives together.
It's been a long journey, but it's been well worth it!
